A photographic universe
Utropik is a photographic universe of imagined realities. Barcelona, Gaudí, the female body, a dead dove or anything else become excuses that the author uses to imagine other realities.
These imagined realities are mental prefigurations that the author materializes through the arts of photography including printmaking. No one but him manipulates his negatives.
There is no more reality than the mind itself and we will not try to convince you of anything. We just want to seduce you.
The creator (of the photographic universe)
Txup Escapa (Barcelona - Year of the Laser) is not a photographer but the author of everything you will see and read, except for the photograph that accompanies this text.
The author of this universe shares the eloquence of those who, like Joan Brossa, use exclusively the resources of the image to communicate what it means. Explaining or justifying images with speeches is, according to Txup, an imposture.
There's not much more to say about Txup, but if you're curious, you can always invite him over for a coffee or a glass of wine (look at this). Go for it and you'll have a great time!
Imagined realities
If we previously referred to a photographic universe, the logic is that we also refer to the planets that make it up. For the moment there are three that we have included, although there are more; and who knows if we will discover others. Despite the diversity of styles in the various collections, there is one thing in common in all of them: a clear poetic will associated with a specific aesthetic idea that gives them a particular appearance that gives meaning to what is to be conveyed. We present them to you!
Entre el cel i l'asfalt (Urban landscapes)
Entre el cel i l'asfalt (Between the sky and the asphalt) are urban landscapes of Barcelona and approaches to Gaudí's work. The format of both collections is vertical panoramic. The difference lies only in the materials and techniques.
1+1+1=ONE
1+1+1=ONE is a project that investigates the possibilities of the triptych both formally and expressively and / or narratively. A triptych should be much more than a three-part segmented image.
Evocations
Evocacions (Evocations) is an aesthetic approach to pictorialism through a technique called Bromogravure, nowadays difficult to practice given the disappearance of materials that made satisfactory results possible.
